Use a comma near the end of a sentence to separate contrasted coordinate elements or to indicate a distinct pause or shift. Use commas to set off phrases at the end of the sentence that refer to the beginning or middle of the sentence.
Text order. Transcribe text in the order it appears on the page. Spelling and punctuation. Dont leave notes in text. Blank pages. Line breaks. Abbreviations. Formatting: Bold, underline, italic, indents, superscript, etc. Insertions.
Transcribe original spelling, punctuation, capitalization, special characters, word order, and page numbers exactly as they appear. Do not correct spelling, punctuation, or grammar. Do not expand abbreviations.
Basic Transcription Guidelines Only type the words that are spoken in the audio file. Phrases or words you dont understand should not be omitted. Instead, they should be tagged appropriately ing to the companys guidelines. US English. Use proper US English capitalization, punctuation and spelling.
Use commas to set off all geographical names, items in dates (except the month and day), addresses (except the street number and name), and titles in names. Use a comma to shift bet- ween the main discourse and a quotation. Use commas wherever necessary to prevent possible confusion or misreading.
Common transcript file formats include plain text (. txt), Word Doc (. docx), and time-stamped formats like . SRT.
