The Unicode character for showing the dot symbol or bullet point is U+2022 . But to use this Unicode correctly, remove the U+ and replace it with ampersand ( ), pound sign ( # ), and x . Then type the 2022 number in, and then add a semi-colon.
The DOT symbol certifies the tire manufacturers compliance with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) tire safety standards. Tires made in the United States have the DOT serial number located on the inside sidewall near the rim.
If your DOT code is a 3-digit number, it means your tire was produced before 2000.
The DOT Code designates an occupational group, which can be found online in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles. The NAICS Code is an industry classification code and can be found at the U.S. Census Bureau website.
The coding structure of the DOT is specifically designed to facilitate this process. The unique 9-digit code shown for each occupation allows job interviewers to perform file searches providing the linkage between an applicants work experience and employer job orders.
The DOT code consists of the manufacturers plant code, the tire size, brand and the week/year the tire was made. The DOT number is stamped on both sides of the tire sidewall and can be found by looking for the DOT designation on the sidewall.
The first two numbers of this grouping indicate the week of the year your tire was manufactured. The final two digits indicate the year that your tire was manufactured. For example, if your final four DOT numbers are 3020, your tire was manufactured in the 30th week of 2020.
