The nonclustered index can be unique or non-unique. Is it not available for ADD CONSTRAINT, so you cannot INCLUDE any columns with a Primary Key, even if it is non-clustered. A PRIMARY KEY is useful as a UNIQUE identifier for the record, and is a candidate key available for REFERENTIAL constraints.
The Include Clause. The include clause allows us to make a distinction between columns we would like to have in the entire index (key columns) and columns we only need in the leaf nodes ( include columns). That means it allows us to remove columns from the non-leaf nodes if we dont need them there.
By definition a clustered index includes all columns so there are none left to include.
Included columns in a non-clustered index can only be the non-key columns. In the included columns the storage only happens on the leaf level of the index, contrary to the key column of an index. The key column of an index is stored at all levels.
You can have only one clustered index in one table, but you can have one clustered index on multiple columns, and that type of index is called composite index.
Included columns can be used to create a covering indexes without including all the data into the key columns. This covering index has the advantage that the index contains all the columns that are needed for a query.
As per my understanding the leaf level of the clustered index are the actual data pages itself, and it stores entire row include with the key column (on which index is created). By definition a clustered index includes all columns so there are none left to include.
Using SQL Server Management Studio In the New Index dialog box, on the General page, enter the name of the new index in the Index name box. In the Select Columns fromtablename dialog box, select the check box of the table column to be added to the clustered index. Click OK. In the New Index dialog box, click OK.
