Create a chart Click anywhere in the data for which you want to create a chart. Select Insert Charts and the chart type you want. On the menu that opens, select the option you want. To edit the chart (titles, legends, data labels), select the Chart tab and then select Format.

Add a chart title manually Click anywhere in the chart to which you want to add a title. On the Layout tab, in the Labels group, click Chart Title. Click Centered Overlay Title or Above Chart. In the Chart Title text box that appears in the chart, type the text that you want.
Create a chart Select the data for which you want to create a chart. Click INSERT Recommended Charts. On the Recommended Charts tab, scroll through the list of charts that Excel recommends for your data, and click any chart to see how your data will look. When you find the chart you like, click it OK.
Save a custom chart as a template Right-click the chart, and select Save as Template. In the File name box, type an appropriate name for the chart template. Click Save. The chart template automatically appears in the Templates folder for charts.
To create a simple chart from scratch in Word, click Insert Chart and pick the chart you want. Click Insert Chart. Click the chart type and then double-click the chart you want. In the spreadsheet that appears, replace the default data with your own information. When youve finished, close the spreadsheet.
