The sixteen digits on your card is your debit card number. It is unique to your checking account but different from your account number.
The card number prefix identifies the issuer of the card, and the digits that follow are used by the issuing entity to identify the cardholder as a customer and which is then associated by the issuing entity with the customers designated bank accounts.
As with online transactions, its usually safe to do this just make sure that no one overhears the details you give out (so avoid public places when doing this). But you should never provide the details of your CVV when making a purchase in-person.
Depending on the type of terminal, you will either swipe the Card or insert it into the slot. Online: For online purchases, youll be asked to enter your Card details during checkout, including your Card number, expiration date and 4-digit security code located on the front of your Card.
Your credit card number should be either printed or embossed in raised numbers across the front of your card. This is usually a 16-digit number, although it may be anywhere from 12 to 19 digits.
Where do I find my credit card number? Your credit card number will either be on the front or back of your credit card and appears in groups of three or four digits with spaces in between the groups. It is generally printed above the expiration date, shown as 00/00, as well as the three-digit security code.
If you have a physical copy of your bank statement, you can find your debit card number printed at the bottom of the page. Usually, it will be listed after the account number and before the expiration date.
Editorial and user-generated content is not provided, reviewed or endorsed by any company. Unfortunately, Credit One does not offer virtual credit card numbers, and there are currently no indications this will change anytime soon.
