hi everyone in this video im going to explain what basic authentication is and how its used in under five minutes lets jump into it first off dont confuse this with a basic example of authentication basic authentication is a mechanism or scheme in which a client can authenticate with a web server using a username and password when a client connects to the server the username and password are encoded as an http header okay ill open my browser to show off a quick example so you can see what im talking about im going to make sure i have dev tools open and im on the network tab as well so if i go to an example page https local.example this page will prompt me for my username and password this is built into the browser it is not part of the web page i didnt write any html for this the browser made a request to the server the server responded with a 401 status code that triggered the browser to prompt me to enter a username and password and when i do that theyre going to be sent to

In authentication, the user or computer has to prove its identity to the server or client. Usually, authentication by a server entails the use of a user name and password. Other ways to authenticate can be through cards, retina scans, voice recognition, and fingerprints.
Step 1: Write your Service Implementation Code. Step 2: Give your Provider a Name. Step 3: Write Your Master Class, a Subclass of Provider. Step 4: Create a Module Declaration for Your Provider. Step 5: Compile Your Code. Step 6: Place Your Provider in a JAR File. Step 7: Sign Your JAR File, If Necessary.
The process is fairly simple; users input their credentials on the websites login form. That information is then sent to the authentication server where the information is compared with all the user credentials on file. When a match is found, the system will authenticate users and grant them access to their accounts.
How does it work? Get the username and password from user. Set it in request form params and send it to the server. Server validates the user based on the given username and password. Once successful validation, create a cookie and set it in the response. The client then uses this cookie/session to make future requests.
Using Form-Based Authentication A client requests access to a protected resource. If the client is unauthenticated, the server redirects the client to a login page. The client submits the login form to the server. If the login succeeds, the server redirects the client to the resource.
Authentication factors can be classified into three groups: something you know: a password or personal identification number (PIN); something you have: a , such as bank card; something you are: biometrics, such as fingerprints and voice recognition.
User authentication is a security process that prevents unauthorized users from accessing your device or network. Its a login procedure where an application requests personalized passwords to give you authorized access to it. If a user lacks the proper login rights to the network, their authentication fails.
