Attach a message or other item to a message On the File menu, click New, and then click Mail Message. On the Message tab, in the Include group, click Attach Item. In the Look in list, click the folder that contains the item that you want to attach. Click the item that you want, and then click OK.
The location is determined by the message format. The Rich Text format supports in-line attachments and thus the attachments show up in the body of the message. Plain Text and HTML formatted emails do not support this and show the attachments in a separate line under the message header but above the message body.
If your attachments are showing up in the body of a message and not below the subject line, then, the issue is because of the file type of the email youre sending. If youre replying to or using the Rich Text format for your email, all attachments will show up in the body of the message.
Attach a file Open the form that displays your attachments, and locate the record to which you want to attach a file. Select the attachment control the control that is bound to the Attachment field. Click the View Attachments button (the paperclip icon) to open the Attachments dialog box. In the dialog box, click Add.
An attachment can appear in the Reading Pane or in the message body. In the Reading Pane, click the attachment below the Subject line to preview the file or item. Attachments within the message body cant be previewed. To view these, open the attachment.
