In the Format Cells dialog box, on the Fill tab, select the color that you want to use for the highlight, and then click OK. Click OK to close the Style dialog box. The new style will be added under Custom in the cell styles box. On the worksheet, select the cells or ranges of cells that you want to highlight.
To apply the formatting, you simply go to the Home tab Conditional Formatting Highlight Cell Rules and select A Date Occurring. Select one of the date options from the drop-down list in the left-hand part of the window, ranging from last month to next month.
Highlighting After-Hours Times Make sure all the cells in column A are formatted as times. Select all the cells in column A that might, at some point, contain a start time.
