Change a slide layouts placeholder text Click. Click to select the slide layout you want to edit. Click the text you want to change, such as Slide Title or Slide Subtitle, then in the Format sidebar, click the Style tab. In the text box next to Display, type what you want the display text to say.
Right-click the slide, and then select Hide Slide.
Add a text box While viewing Keynote in landscape orientation, tap. in the toolbar, then tap Text in the Basic category. Drag the text box to where you want it. Double-tap the placeholder text, then enter your own. To resize the text box, drag the selection handle on the left or right side of the box.
Click to select the object you added, then in the Format sidebar, click the Style tab. Near the bottom, select Define as Text Placeholder or Define as Media Placeholder.
Select Show or hide based on an expression. Click on the expression button fx . Enter the expression =IIf(CountRows(Items) = 0 , True, False) . Note that this expression is to hide the Textbox (Hidden).
Drag the text box to where you want to position it on the slide. As you drag the text box, Keynote will show you alignment guides (shown as yellow lines on the slide) to help you line the text up easily. Double-tap in the text box to get an insertion point and then enter your text.
Create a media placeholder Add an image to your slide, then format it the way you want your presentations images to look. Click the image to select it, then choose Format Advanced Define as Media Placeholder (from the Format menu at the top of your screen).
