[Music] hello this is greg from sharepoint maven and in todays video i would like to show you how you can hide fields in a sharepoint list or sharepoint document library based on conditional formula let me explain to you what im talking about so here i have a document library with a few documents and i have two metadata columns a status column and an expiration date the status column has active inactive and then expiration date thats just a date field now uh at the moment when users fill in the metadata uh when they uh choose the uh status for example right whether the effective or inactive uh expression date always appears as a piece of metadata what i would like to do is the following i do not want this expiration date column to appear unless the status is active so if i mark the document as active then expiration date column will uh pop up you know prompted me to fill out the date uh expiration date if i mark it inactive expiration date should disappear obviously it does appear a

To hide fields onload, create UI policy with no conditions in it. Open a form and right click and configure and chose UI Policy. Now chose which field to hide in UI Policy action and set Visible to False. This will hide the field on form when load.
In the Actions section of the UI Policy form, specify the action that should be taken when the conditions are met. In this case, you would select the Hide action, and specify the field that should be hidden, such as the duedate field. Save the UI Policy, and activate it by clicking the Activate button.
Then you need to open up UI policies and find FormSectionCtrlselfservice and edit the line 5 - sections[5]. style. display = block; Change the number to wherever your self-service section is sitting. Do that for both the true and false conditions.
And use the UI Policy Actions to set Feedback and Interviewer fields Visible false. Also make sure the fields are non-mandatory. Cause you can not hide mandatory fields. If the fields are mandatory, you must set Mandatory false too along with setting the visibility of the fields in the UI Policy actions.
Go to Solution. Go to UI actions and search for global table and comments is Normal list and add this condition in UI action. Tried using List control-omit new button but this omits the new button on the table also. Requirement is to only hide it on the list.
To hide a field in ServiceNow, you can use the gform. setDisplay() method. This method allows you to hide a field on a form by setting its display property to false . In this client script example, the onLoad() function is called when the form loads, and uses the gform.

What you have to do here, remove the field from List Layout and then apply the above ACL . the above ACL will restrict other user to not select from the personalize list because that column wont be available for other user except admin.
In order to hide both the top and bottom UI actions. We need to input the following into the corresponding UI policy Execute if True and Execute if False fields. This will resolve the issue of hiding both top and bottom UI actions on the form via UI policy.
