[Music] hello this is greg from sharepoint maven and in todays video i would like to show you how you can hide fields in a sharepoint list or sharepoint document library based on conditional formula let me explain to you what im talking about so here i have a document library with a few documents and i have two metadata columns a status column and an expiration date the status column has active inactive and then expiration date thats just a date field now uh at the moment when users fill in the metadata uh when they uh choose the uh status for example right whether the effective or inactive uh expression date always appears as a piece of metadata what i would like to do is the following i do not want this expiration date column to appear unless the status is active so if i mark the document as active then expiration date column will uh pop up you know prompted me to fill out the date uh expiration date if i mark it inactive expiration date should disappear obviously it does appear a

Follow the steps below. Go to Settings -- Customizations. Click Customize the System. Under Components, expand Entities, and then expand the entity you want. Click Fields. Select the field you want to remove from the form (which is Business Required) Change the Field Requirement from Business Required to Optional.
Mandatory fields allow you to define items that are mandatory for any window in SAP Business One. This can be done at header and/or column level. To quickly get going go to the window you wish to make something mandatory, right-click it and choose Make this field / column mandatory.
Make a field mandatory. Change the field label or hint. Delete a field from a table. Add users to a watch list. Configure email notifications for watch lists. Hide email addresses in a watch list. Highlight list fields. Modify string field length. Specify a default field value. Make a field dependent.
To make a field mandatory the best solution would be implement - UI Policies and Data Policies. and select Due Date - Mandatory Column to True. Same goes for Data Policy. That should work.
All you have to do now is find the field youd like to hide and click, hold, and drag it up to the box of fields at the top of the page (so that you see the green ✅ appear), then release. And youre all set, the field is now hidden from the page layout!
Within the selected entity navigate to the section Business Rule and open it and click on New. Now the business rule template should get opened. Here select the dedicated condition for which you have to make a field hidden or visible. In our case we will hide the field Fax when Account Number is blank or empty.
Drag and place this component to the IF statement of the condition. In this component select the field which you have to make mandatory. In our case we will select field Fax to be mandatory. Now validate, save and activate the business rule.
Click on the gear icon then Setup Object Manager. Choose the object Fields Relationships. Select the custom field that you will make required. Click on Edit and under General Options select Required. Click on Save.
