How to make field non-editable in Salesforce? Go to the page layout. Click the Field Properties in the page layout. Make it Read-Only.
Click the field name to access a fields properties. Click Advanced to expand the section. In the Permissions section of the page, select the Restrict access by role checkbox. Select one of the following access levels from the list for each role: None. View. Modify. Click Save.
Salesforce Classic: Click on Setup | Manage Users | Permission Sets. Open the Permission Set that has the Edit Read-Only Fields added in it. Go to System permission. Deselect the option Edit Read Only Fields Save.
The standard Close Date field cannot be removed from any page layout for the Opportunity object, nor can the Required property be removed.
Example 1. A salesperson fills out order forms for a customer. The company ships orders directly to customers, so a shipping address is required. The salesperson sees the field in bold.
All you have to do now is find the field youd like to hide and click, hold, and drag it up to the box of fields at the top of the page (so that you see the green ✅ appear), then release. And youre all set, the field is now hidden from the page layout!
Click Object Settings and select the object for which you want to update the field settings. Click Edit. Under Field Permissions, for each field, specify the kind of access you want for users with this profile, and save your settings.
Click Edit. Uncheck the Visible checkbox next the field youd like to hide. Click Save. If the field you hide in Salesforce has already been synced with Marketo, youll need to hide it in Marketo, too if you dont want to use it.
