All course evaluations are completely anonymous, and your instructor can only view the course evaluation results after the grades due date. Can I fill out the course evaluation form after grades are released?
Yes, both the early course and the final course evaluations are completely confidential and anonymous. For early course evaluations, instructors are sent the results after the survey closes.
On the Course Management panel, under Course Settings, select Edit course settings. The Edit course settings page will open. On the Edit course settings page, under General, for Course visibility, select Hide or Show. Click Save and display.
But no, faculty typically do not get access to their course evaluations until after submitting grades - and the evaluations are anonymous so that professors cannot respond to a critical evaluation by assigning a low grade or students cant try to curry favor for a higher grade by praising the professor.
Instructors and TAs are not able to see their evaluation reports until they have turned in grades. The evaluation reports they are provided contain aggregated information and no specific responses or ratings can be traced back to individual students.
The only information that a professor has about a SPOT before final grades are turned in is that a professor can see how many students from a class have completed a SPOT. Also, professors typically wont receive their SPOT Reports and Comments until at least 2 weeks after final grades have been submitted.
Access via Canvas: Login to Canvas. On the global navigation menu that displays on the left, select Account. In the menu that appears, select Settings. On the left side of the page, select Course Evaluations.
To disable a section or hide it from student view, drag a section down to the hidden section at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, you can click on the three dots to the right of the section [1] and click Disable [2].
