Hide cell values Select the cells. On the Format menu, click Cells, and then click the Number tab. Under Category, click Custom. In the Type box, type ;;; (that is, three semicolons in a row), and then click OK.

Select the cell, or the range of cells, to the right or above where you want to insert additional cells. Tip: Select the same number of cells as you want to insert. For example, to insert five blank cells, select five cells. Hold down CONTROL, click the selected cells, then on the pop-up menu, click Insert.
Use Excels Find/Replace Function to Replace Zeros Choose Find/Replace (CTRL-H). Use 0 for Find what and leave the Replace with field blank (see below). Check Match entire cell contents or Excel will replace every zero, even the ones within values.
