[Music] hello this is Greg from SharePoint maven and in this video I would like to explain to you how you can easily hide or reorganize fields or columns from the entry form on a SharePoint list let me explain to you what Im talking about so here we go I have this SharePoint custom list it happens to be a risk register that I have on a project site and you kind of get to see the final product I already have created several columns completed some information but heres a scenario for you when my users click the new button they obviously fill out the information right I want to be able to hide certain fields from them all right I dont want them to fill out certain fields all right how do I do that I mean if you want to hide information hide the columns from the view thats not a problem you just literally click on the drop down column settings and say hi this column or you can also go here and add a column drop down show/hide columns and you can easily check or uncheck the columns here

Here is how to do it: Anywhere on your form click the Insert button and select a section. Double click on the new section to open up the properties and type HIDDEN in the Label. Uncheck the Visible by default button and click OR.

Go to customization List, Records Fields Item fields . Edit that custom field and on the Validation Defaulting tab you can uncheck the mandatory field and then just save. :) Save this answer.
Go to Settings - Configuration - Custom fields Click on the bin icon next to the custom field that you wish to delete.
Go to Customization Lists, Records, Fields Transaction Types, and click the name of the appropriate transaction type. Click the Statuses subtab. If you want the Status field to be displayed on the transaction, check the Show Status Field box. If you want to hide the Status field, clear the box.
To do this, I simply right-click on the field and select Personalisation from the menu. As the following screenshot shows, I can now tick the Required option. As shown below, the field is now mandatory (red and marked with an asterisks) when editing the record.
