Professionals usually place reference initials on the bottom of a business letter, two lines after the writers signature. Try to format the initials on the left side of the page. If theres an enclosed note or a postscript, you can place those elements underneath your reference initials.
They include the initials of the letters writer in all caps, followed by a slash mark or colon, and then the initials of the typist in lower case. For example, if William Shakespeare typed a letter for his manager Virginia Woolf, the typists initials would be: VW/ws.
For an individual, the order of initials is the first name, last name, and middle name. The last name initial (center) is larger than those on either side.
Stenographic Reference These reference initials refer to the person who is sending the letter and to the typist. The senders initials are typed in all capitals, followed by a colon or a slash, then the initials of the typist in lowercase letters: FWW:tg or FWW/tg.
To help clear this up, you can show each authors initials next to their changes. To show author initials, click History Hide Authors. Note: The Hide Authors button is a toggle that you click to turn on or off. Click it again if you no longer want to see author initials.
The initials of the business letters writer go first, in capital letters, followed by a colon or slash mark, then the typists initials in lowercase. For example, here are two ways to format typist initials if Cadence Walters typed a business letter for her manager Mathieu Monet: MM:cw.
Initials included at the bottom of a business letter are called typists initials. Some companies require them so that they know who actually typed the letter versus who composed it, in order to determine who is responsible for typos, misspellings and other mistakes that took place when the letter was produced.
These reference initials refer to the person who is sending the letter and to the typist. The senders initials are typed in all capitals, followed by a colon or a slash, then the initials of the typist in lowercase letters: FWW:tg or FWW/tg.
