Fix: Turn Off Ignore Blank Select the cell that contains a data validation list. Choose Data|Validation. On the Settings tab, remove the check mark from the Ignore blank box. Click OK.
In Excel 2007 and later go to the Home tab and look to the right and click the Find Select button and then you can see this option. From the window that opens, select the Blanks option and hit OK. Now, right-click a selected cell, which will be a blank one, and click Delete.
Select the cell that contains a data validation list. Choose Data|Validation. On the Settings tab, remove the check mark from the Ignore blank box. Click OK.
How to use data validation to prevent blank cells left in Excel Select the column you want to prevent blank cells left, click Data Data Validation. Under Settings tab, select Custom from Allow drop-down list, then type this formula =COUNTIF($F$1:$F1,)=0 into Formula textbox. Click OK.
In the Data Validation dialog, select List from the Allow drop-down list, select the list including the blank cell you want to create data validation list based on and uncheck the Ignore blank option. 4. Click OK. Now you will see the first option in the data validation list is blank.
Use the Trim formula to remove extra spaces Add the helper column to the end of your data. In the first cell of the helper column (C2), enter the formula to trim excess spaces =TRIM(A2) Copy the formula across the other cells in the column. Replace the original column with the one that has the cleaned data.
In Excel 2007 and later go to the Home tab and look to the right and click the Find Select button and then you can see this option. From the window that opens, select the Blanks option and hit OK. Now, right-click a selected cell, which will be a blank one, and click Delete. Hit OK and thats it!
