A Field is a placeholder used to insert text and graphics into a document. A field code includes the following elements: Field Name.
Create a Form Place the text cursor where you want to insert the form field. Click the Developer tab on the ribbon. Click the Design Mode button in the controls group. Click a Content Control buttons to insert the selected type of control. When youre done, click the Design Mode button again to exit Design Mode.
In the Forms Designer, right-click the field, and then click Properties. Click the Validation tab. Select or clear the Include this field for Printing and Save As check box.
Fields enable you to quickly insert and update certain types of data in your document. This data is generally information that is subject to change, such as the authors name or the last save date, or a formula total.
There are two very easy ways you can do this. The first is to go to the beginning of the document and simply press the F11 key. This causes Word to jump to the next field in the current document story, regardless of what that field does.Finding Fields Press Alt+F9. Press Ctrl+F.
