If you want to show the fields inside the post, you have to place the code inside the loop of single. php, supposing you are using the standard post type. This code retrive the field only, it wont show anything, its used to store the value in a variable: getfield(field-name);

The ACF fields and groups are stored in the default wp-posts table with the post type acf-field-group for groups and acf-field for the fields.
