The Currency data type is for inputting currency values with a specific currency symbol. Currency data types have the same formatting options as Number data type but allow you to add and format currency symbols. Currency data types are great for accounting, budgeting, and more.
Access provides several predefined formats for number and currency data. Open the query in Design View. Right-click the date field, and then click Properties. In the Property Sheet, select the format you want from the Format property list.
Data currency is monetary value assigned to data to identify its financial significance to an organization. Once the monetary value of data assets is identified, it may be used as the unit of exchange in a transaction, either as the sole payment or in combination with money.
When you apply the Currency format to a number, the currency symbol appears right next to the first digit in the cell. You can specify the number of decimal places that you want to use, whether you want to use a thousands separator, and how you want to display negative numbers.
