Highlight a cross-reference to update it To update a cross-reference so it shows and links to the correct element, you can highlight the text for the reference and right-click on it. In the drop-down menu, between the Paste and Edit Field options, is the option Update field.
You can also select the cross-reference in the document and press the Delete key on the keyboard.To delete a cross-reference in a document, do the following: Choose View Panels Cross-References to open the Cross-References panel. Select the cross-reference in the Cross-References panel. Click Delete.
Open Microsoft Word and paste the document into Word. Using your cursor, highlight the entire document, or the parts of the document you want to see without the line. Click on Format, and then on Font. In the Font tab, uncheck the box next to Strikethrough.
On the Document Elements tab, under References, click Manage. In the Citations List, select the citation that you want to edit. , and then click Edit Source. Make the changes that you want, and then click OK.
Press Ctrl+Shift+F9. This converts the field to actual text.
To delete a cross-reference in a document, do the following: Choose View Panels Cross-References to open the Cross-References panel. Select the cross-reference in the Cross-References panel. Click Delete.
There is a single keyboard shortcut to unlink a cross-reference field in Word on Windows (ctrl-shift-F9).
If you want to remove it completely, select the cross reference and press Delete on the keyboard. If you want to keep the text but remove the link, select the cross reference and press Ctrl+Shift+F9.
