If you want to register a project Click Registrations in the sub navigation pane. This will allow you to create a registration of the entire project, along with any components you want to include. Later in the process you can select which components to include in the registration, or select all.
Preregistration allows researchers to plan research, commit to those plans before conducting the research, and (usually) also disclose those plans before conducting the research.
An embargo keeps a registration private until a specified date. When you enter your registration into an embargo, you can end the embargo early to make your registration public sooner. First, go to your registration.
Open the registration that you want to withdraw, then click the Public tab on the top left. The Withdraw registration modal will appear. Optionally, enter a justification for withdrawal. You will receive an email in which you can either approve or cancel the withdrawal of your registration.
Journal editors can check on the preregistration in a repository such as OSF and ZPID. Authors should include the persistent unique identifier in the author note.
Pre-registering may prevent researchers from overfitting to their data or, in other words, making analysis decisions that are too specific to a particular sample or study.
What does it mean to pre-register, and why is it worthwhile? Pre-registration is the practice of deciding your research and analysis plan prior to starting your study and sharing it publicly, like submitting it to a registry.
All admins on the registration can approve the registration by clicking the link. If an admin disapproves the registration, the registration will be canceled. If the admins do not take action via the email, the registration will become registered automatically after 48 hours.
