Select Credit memo. Select the customer from the Customer ▼ dropdown. In the Product/Service section, select Bad debts. In the Amount column, enter the amount you want to write off.
You can edit a billing request or delete its billing block. To do so, Select a billing request by clicking on the selection box to left of Document (i.e. billing request) column, Click on the Edit sales document or Delete billing block button.
Unapply a Credit Memo from an Invoice. Click the Customers tab at the top menu bar. Select Customer Center. Choose the customer. Double-click the credit memo. Press the Edit tab in the upper-left corner. Hit Delete Credit Memo.
Credit memo format Credit Invoice in a prominent place at the top of the invoice. Company information. Customer information. Date issued. Credit memo number. Original invoice number. Description of goods (e.g., quantity and price) Total amount credited.

Once a credit memo has been deactivated, its completely unapplied from any invoices it was applied to. For auditing purposes, deactivated credit memos cant be completely removed from your account.
Please follow these steps: Open the invoice. Click on Receive Payment. On the Amount Received box, change it to 0. Tick the invoice and credit memo. On the Payment Column for the invoice, change it to the amount of the credit memo. Click on Save and Close.
How to zero out a credit memo Locate the appropriate credit memo. Press Ctrl + H to display History. Double-click the invoice. Choose Apply Credits. On the Previously Applied Credits window, clear the selection for credit. On the Apply Credits window, select Done. On the invoice, select Save and Close.
