Lets talk about Excel Comments and how we can work with them better and faster. And then were gonna get into the fun part, which is how can we customize the comment background and how we can use icons as our comments. Just a note, Microsoft recently announced a new feature called Threaded comments. This means you can reply to one another in Excel, and you can keep track of it, and they still kept the existing comment feature though, thankfully. But this resulted in a change in feature names. So, what me and you know as an Excel comment is gonna be called an Excel note. The new comments have a Reply box, which is actually another great feature of Office 365. So, in this video, Ill be talking about what will be known as notes in the future, and comments for now. So, lets jump in. The comment will remain in the group or under the post, but other users wont be able to see it or react to it. For the author of the comment, everything will look as it did before. They wont be notified that their comment was hidden or even see it on the post.
Hiding the Facebook comment will keep it hidden from everyone except that person and their friends. They wont know that the comment is hidden, so you can avoid potential fallout. Deleting the Facebook comment will erase it; no one will be able to see it.
The comments text should fade or appear grayed out. You will notice the Unhide option below it which can be useful if you change your mind later. The same steps will also work on smartphone apps. Press and hold the comment to reveal a pop-up with the Hide comment option.
You can also create a custom list of words, phrases, numbers and emojis you want to hide. Keep in mind that hidden comments are still included in your total comment count and when a comment or message is hidden, the person who sent it wont know.
Page admins, editors and moderators can hide comments on Page posts. From your Page, go to the post that has a comment you want to hide. Below the comment you want to hide, tap More, then select Hide.
You can hide Facebook comments on your own page as well as in groups. The replies to the hidden comment will also be automatically hidden. Or you can hide only certain replies to the comment.
It still remains visible to the original poster and all their friends. Because they can still view it, they wont know that you hid their comment.
