Keep in mind that hidden comments are still included in your total comment count and when a comment or message is hidden, the person who sent it wont know.
Facebook has comment spam filters that will, by default, hide certain comments (unless the post owner goes in and manually unhides them). The comments remain in the comment count but dont show up to the public (if its your post you can see three dots and click to manage the spam posts).
Hiding the Facebook comment will keep it hidden from everyone except that person and their friends. They wont know that the comment is hidden, so you can avoid potential fallout.
If you want to hide the comments along with the markups, go to the Review tab and Tracking section of the ribbon. In the Display for Review drop-down box, pick No Markup. This hides all markup, comments, and comment indicators.
The comment will remain in the group or under the post, but other users wont be able to see it or react to it. For the author of the comment, everything will look as it did before. They wont be notified that their comment was hidden or even see it on the post.
Hide comments using Display for Review Click the Review tab in the Ribbon. In the Tracking group, click Display for Review. A drop-down menu appears. Select No Markup or Original to hide the markup area, including comments.
To unhide or see a hidden comment, tap and hold This comment has been hidden, then select Unhide. After you hide a comment, you also can ban the person or Page that made the comment or report the comment if it doesnt follow the Facebook Community Standards.
