hey everybody what the heck time is it it is time to learn about an other contract clause today were going to talk about the amendment clause also sometimes written as the no amendment clause basically the clause is going to be toward the end of the contract and its designed to prevent one party from changing the contract without the knowledge or consent or agreement of the other party so the language is going to say something like this agreement may only be amended in writing that specifically references this contract and assigned by both parties the whole purpose is to make sure that if theres going to be a change to the contract whatever type of contract it is that both parties agree and they did so intentionally which is why you do it in writing you reference the agreement being amended and you make both people sign or if its more than two parties you make everybody sign because you want to make sure that everybody agrees and is sorry on the same page about what the contract is

Another difference is that amendment must involve all parties (or their legal representatives) concerned in the contract, while either party (or a third party) can add an addendum (though it needs to be agreed upon by the parties involved in the contract).
Always put a contract amendment in writing and make sure both parties sign and date it. Reference the title of the contract, if applicable; its original parties; and original signing date, so that it is clear what document you are amending. Attach the amendment to the original contract.
Amendments proposed by Congress or convention become valid only when ratified by the legislatures of, or conventions in, three-fourths of the states (i.e., 38 of 50 states).
Depending on the contract, several important rules for amending existing contracts must be considered. Typically, two requirements are true for all amendments to existing contracts. All parties must agree on the modifications for the amendment to stand. All parties must sign and authorize the amendment.
An amendment is typically used to change something thats part of an original contract. Think of amendments as modifications to the earliest agreement (for example, altering an agreed-upon deadline). An addendum is used to clarify and add things that were not initially part of the original contract or agreement.
Best practices for contract amendments Always put a contract amendment in writing and make sure both parties sign and date it. Reference the title of the contract, if applicable; its original parties; and original signing date, so that it is clear what document you are amending.
An addendum is an addition to a finished document, such as a contract. The most common addendum is an attachment or exhibit at the end of such a document. For example, a contract to manufacture widgets may have an addendum listing the specifications for said widgets.
Also, to be legally enforceable, amendments to a written contract should be made in writing and signed by both parties.
