To agree a rent increase by mutual agreement you just need to contact the tenant(s) and discuss the proposed increase. Once you have docHub an agreement with all parties you should ask everyone to sign a written record of: The new rental amount. The date from which the new rent is payable.

Applying to challenge your rent increase If you and your landlord cant agree on your rent increase you can ask a tribunal to decide for you - its free to apply. Youll need to apply before the date your rent increase is due to start - you can find this on your section 13 notice.
Are there special notice requirements for rent increases? Yes. The landlord must provide notice of any rent increases for all tenancies at least 90 days (other than week-to-week tenancies as provided above) prior to the effective date of the increase.
