Document visibility allows senders to control which documents each recipient can see in an envelope with multiple documents. Note: A document cannot be hidden from a recipient if the recipient has tabs assigned to them on the document.
You can hide sensitive data in a text field, such as a social security number, on a document, by applying the Hide text with asterisks property.

Documents without any fields are visible to all recipients. Documents which do not have any fields placed on them are, by default, visible to all recipients. This includes documents added during envelope or template creation, as well as documents added by signers who choose to use the Print Sign option in signing.
You hide the field, by opening its property dialog, go to the General tab, and then change visible to hidden in the field property dropdown. That should do it. If you want to be double sure, make the field read-only as well. Hope this can help.

Mark the formatting option Hide text with asterisks. (Recommended) In the Data Label field property, replace the default value with a meaningful name.
