If you have copied a table, figure or other graphic from another source, you must indicate the source in a note that is attached to that item. The APA style says you need to include Reprinted from or Adapted from followed by the title of the book or article and complete source information.
A plot is a graphical technique for representing a data set, usually as a graph showing the relationship between two or more variables. The plot can be drawn by hand or by a computer. In the past, sometimes mechanical or electronic plotters were used.
Using charts and graphs from published materials In general, these materials should not be copied in their entirety or original format without permission from the creator. Giving attribution to the source without gaining permissions does not fulfill fair use requirements.
A reference within the text to a table, graph, diagram, etc. taken from a source should include the author, date and page number in brackets to enable the reader to identify the data. If you have already named the author in the text, only the publication year and page number needs to be mentioned in brackets.
Graphs are a common method to visually illustrate relationships in the data. The purpose of a graph is to present data that are too numerous or complicated to be described adequately in the text and in less space. Do not, however, use graphs for small amounts of data that could be conveyed succinctly in a sentence.
Tables should be: Centered on the page. Numbered in the order they appear in the text. Referenced in the order they appear in the text. Labeled with the table number and descriptive title above the table. Labeled with column and/or row labels that describe the data, including units of measurement.
Copyright protects the original words or images that express an idea. You can recreate graphs and tables from raw data without infringing on the copyright of the original creators. Copying the ideas of others without giving credit is plagiarism.
You will need to get permission from the copyright holder if you want to reuse a table, chart, graph, or image published in a text (articles, books, websites). The owner of the copyright material is the publisher, so contact the journal, book publisher, or website owner to ask for permission.
No, it is not okey to use it without permission.
Graph description is related to the section of findings, where researchers often present their data in graphs, or tables, or charts and provide a description to highlight the major trends. Graph description is a basic and important skill in academic writing.
