Add built-in header and footer elements for a chart sheet or chart Click the chart sheet or chart where you want to add or change a header or footer element. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Header Footer. Click Custom Header or Custom Footer.
You can add headers to the top and footers to the bottom of a worksheet. When you print the worksheet, the headers and footers also print. For example, you might create a header with the file path and a footer with page numbers. Headers and footers display only in Page Layout view and on printed pages.
You can use headers and footers to add key information, such as the purpose of the chart and the audience. For example, if you have gross profit for different product categories, you can add a header to highlight this information in your chart.
From the menus, choose Edit Add Graph Footnote. A text box containing is displayed below the graph. Verify that you are in Edit mode. From the menus, choose View Edit Mode. Double-click the text. Type the required title and press Return.
A header is text that is placed at the top of a page, while a footer is placed at the bottom, or foot, of a page. Typically these areas are used for inserting document information, such as the name of the document, the chapter heading, page numbers, creation date and the like.
Click the chart, and then click the Chart Design tab. Click Add Chart Element Chart Title, and then click the title option that you want. Type the title in the Chart Title box. On the Insert tab, in the Text group and click the Header Footer button. On the Design tab, click Go to Footer or scroll down to the footer boxes at the bottom of the page. Depending on the desired location, click the left, center, or right footer box, and type some text or insert the element you want.
Insert a text box on a chart Click the chart to which you want to add a text box. In the chart, click where you want to start a corner of the text box, and then drag until the text box is the size that you want. In the text box, type the text that you want. The text will wrap in the text box.
