- This tent uses what we call a closed end zipper. And by that, I mean its permanently closed at the end. Its sewn together. Now the FixnZip will work on a closed end zipper. It just requires a few alternative steps as opposed to if you were putting it on a jacket. Now the FixnZip will actually start anywhere on a zipper track, but were gonna start with it right up here. Again, the nice thing about a FixnZip is you can have pulls on both sides so you can zip from inside or outside the tent. So were gonna loosen the thumbscrew, but this time, were gonna slide both ends of the zipper track into the FixnZip slider. Once you have both ends, screw down the FixnZip. As you can see, both sides are inside the zipper slider. Now back it up to the beginning, screw down the thumbscrew all the way, loosen about a quarter of a turn, and then pull. Sometimes, once you get started on a closed end zipper, youll wanna tighten down the thumbscrew just a little bit more because it gets loose as it

Instead, you'll need yourself a pair of pliers. One of the most common cause is when the teeth/elements are misaligned, and can be recognized when one or more elements stick out from the others. Grab some pliers and move it back to its place . Usually, this will solve the issue.
Misaligned Zipper Here's one way to fix this problem: Cut away three or four teeth from one side of the zipper at the very bottom. Move the slider down to the bottom and pull apart the two zipper halves to eliminate the wrinkle.
Use pliers to slightly stretch the openings of the metal stoppers and wiggle them free. Once you've removed the slider, push the zipper's teeth together tightly, realigning the track evenly. When you've realigned the teeth, put the slider back on the track one opening at a time.
Start by engaging the zipper as normal, and zipping the slider an inch or two upward. Using the pliers on your multitool, pinch each side of the slider (one jaw of the pliers on the inside of the slider, one on the outside). Apply just enough force to gently squeeze the front and back of the slider closer together.
