sometimes words are seen splitting up at the end of a line this might happen if the original Word document was written on a system with an Asian language as the default language to fix this select the text click on the small arrow in the paragraph section in the Home tab of the ribbon the paragraph menu will open up has a window click on the Asian typography tab and uncheck all boxes under line break click OK the Asian typography tab will appear only if you have an Asian language installed to do so click file then options and go to the language tab in the add additional editing languages drop down menu select an Asian language say Japanese click OK you will be prompted to restart word after restarting word you should be able to see the third tab
