hello welcome back to my channel my name is carly stevens iamp;#39;m the author of the tanuwin academy series and this is the english nerd so today i wanted to do another two minute writer itamp;#39;s been a long time since iamp;#39;ve done one a video in that series and today itamp;#39;s all about blank versus free verse i find that a lot of people tend to mistake these two terms but thereamp;#39;s an easy way to tell the difference so iamp;#39;m going to let you know what that is and give you a couple examples really quickly so blank verse is essentially a poetry that has meter but no rhyme at least no set rhyme scheme so for example in shakespeareamp;#39;s the merchant of venice we have clearly a poetry form here um itamp;#39;s an iambic pentameter in this case so thatamp;#39;s the beat thatamp;#39;s the meter but there is no set rhyme scheme in this um thereamp;#39;s very little rhyming at all by contrast free verse has no set rhyme scheme and no set meter either
