How can I recover a Final Draft script thats lost, corrupt or Open Word; Go to File Open -- on newer versions of Word you may have to navigate through Computer, then Browse to docHub this window; Under the Open, the Files of Type or the Format dropdown menu, choose Recover Text From Any File;
In the Header and Footer box, click OK to get back to your script; Go to Document Mores and Continueds and click on the Set Font button at the bottom of the window; Windows: In the Font box at the upper left, select the font you want and click OK; Mac: Go to Format Font and select the font.
With your file open, go to Format Elements (Mac) or Format Elements Settings (Windows). Click Apply a Template and you will get a list of various formats. Select the format you want and OK your way back to the script.
The basics of script formatting are as follows: 12-point Courier font size. 1.5 inch margin on the left of the page. 1 inch margin on the right of the page. 1 inch on the of the top and bottom of the page. Each page should have approximately 55 lines. The dialogue block starts 2.5 inches from the left side of the page.
The only file type the FD Go and Mobile app can open is FDX, the format used by Final Draft.

The program is in Reader mode and needs to be activated. Go to Help Activate and enter your Final Draft Customer Number (note that it cannot be a Trial number, which starts with KFDT / EFDT / XFDT). Click Activate and once the activation is complete, all program functions will be enabled.
To do this, go to Document Page Layout. Here you can increase or decrease the text margins. We recommend that before you begin tweaking you note the initial settings in case you need them again.
