The overall goal of a FBA is to identify what behaviors are of concern and when and why they occur. In this chapter, FBA techniques are classified into three general categories: (a) indirect assessments, (b) descriptive assessments, and (c) experimental analyses.
Behavioral assessment evaluations come in many forms including interviews, questionnaires, and observations. Interviews provide an opportunity for an open-ended response from people who witness or experience challenging behavior. Questionnaires are a standard used to identify a specific set of behaviors.
There are two types of behavioral assessments: functional and clinical. A functional behavior assessment (FBA) is used to uncover the function of specific behavior, that is to say, the reason the behavior persists. Some of these functions are negative while others are positive in reinforcement.
Here are a few tips to make it go easier: Answer honestly. Personality tests often include questions that ask for answers on a scale. Avoid too many of the same answers. Study the job description. Consider taking a practice test. Take your time. Expect questions about your honesty and integrity.
Behavior Style Is What We Do Unlike personality, which cant intentionally or temporarily be modified by conscious choice, Behavior Style can be. Its what we do, rather than who we are. It includes all of our observed conduct. There are 4 Behavior Styles: Persuader, Controller, Analyzer, and Stabilizer.
