To remove the oxidation, I made a paste of Bar Keepers Friend and water, and used my fingers and the paste to polish the black plastic. To mix the the paste, I used about 1 or 2 parts water to 1 part Bar Keepers Friend. It took about 3 minutes of rather firm rubbing per temple to remove the oxidation.
Place a drop of lotion-free dishwashing liquid on each lens, then rub the soap around the lenses and frame. You only need a drop per lens to get your glasses good and clean. Rub the dishwashing liquid over both sides of the lenses with your fingers, then over the entire frame.
Restoring drinking glasses that are cloudy from hard water mineral buildup is a quick and straightforward process. Simply gather milky glasses, soak them in a vinegar solution, hand wash them and dry thoroughly to get rid of buildup.
How to Remove Hard Water Stains from Drinking Glasses Step 1 Soak the glasses in a bowl of white vinegar. At first, I soaked the glasses overnight, rotating them occasionally to make sure each side was exposed to the vinegar. Step 2 Rub the glasses with a washcloth coated in baking soda. Step 3 Wash as usual.
If you find an oil stain on your silk garment, you may want to take an additional step by applying talcum powder to the soiled area and allow it to sit overnight. The talcum powder will help to lift the stain, after which you can wash the garment as directed on the care label.
Apply white vinegar to the area, let it soak in for a couple minutes. Pour salt onto the stained area, then work it in with your fingers. Put the garment in the sun and let it air dry. Wash as usual. Check to see if the stains gone, repeat the steps if not.
Make a stain remover by adding enough water to baking soda to create a thick paste. Rub the stain gently with the paste using a soft cloth. Use a damp cloth to wipe up the residue and give the wood a quick buff.
Mix a baking soda paste: In a small bowl, mix one part of water with three parts of baking soda to create a thin paste. Apply the paste: Using a cloth or soft-bristled scrub brush, apply the paste onto the glass in a circular scrubbing motion. Use an old toothbrush for tight corners and small glass items.
