When the signature arrives in the recipients email client, and is read by the recipient, it should look as its intended to look* because that recipient is in reading mode. But as soon as that recipient hits reply to your email, the recipients email client has just shifted into composing mode.
Add or change a signature Open Gmail. At the top right, click Settings. See all settings. In the Signature section, add your signature text in the box. If you want, you can format your message by adding an image or changing the text style. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
This can happen for different reasons, like wrong settings, problems with the browser, mistakes in the signature formatting, or using Plain Text Mode.
Select Settings Mail Compose and reply. Create your signature. Select the default signature for new messages and for replies. Select Save.
Signature image not formatted correctly If youre having problems formatting your signature image, try these solutions: Delete then re-upload the signature image. Use a different upload method. Use a signature image in the recommended size.
Gmail has a character limit of 10,000 characters, which is a lot of characters, but if you have a really long signature, it may just be too long. Try shortening the signature and paste it in again or use our free extension that allows you to have an email signature with unlimited characters.
Ensure your signature is set up to appear in replies. Go to File - Options - Mail - Signatures. Under Choose default signature, make sure the correct signature is selected for Replies/forwards.
Go to the Gmail settings by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner and then select See all settings. Under the General tab, scroll down to find the Signature section. Make sure your signature is selected and not the No signature option.
