hi everyone my name is Gordon from gimme OH and today weamp;#39;re gonna talk about the dreaded error from Gmail when you try and an email signature thatamp;#39;s too big and it says something like sorry the signature for your email is too long please try a shorter signature now this problem usually comes up when your email signature has over 10,000 characters in the HTML code but thatamp;#39;s not always an issue and there are ways you can fix it which weamp;#39;ll talk about in a minute if you use gimme oh itamp;#39;s quite easy to check the character count of your email signature just simply just go to the installation tab here and you can click check the signature size so you can see that this oneamp;#39;s large and itamp;#39;s over Gmailamp;#39;s character limit so what weamp;#39;ll do is weamp;#39;ll just it and Iamp;#39;ll show you the error that comes up when you try and our large email signature to Gmail or go to our Gmail here better settings and then weam

In the Gmail app, start by selecting settings and then see all settings. Scroll to signature where you can add or customize the format. Insert your image by choosing the image icon in the toolbar. After youve uploaded the photo, resize it by selecting small, medium, or large.
Signature not displaying correctly: Check if any formatting or HTML code in your signature is causing the issue. Simplify the formatting or remove any problematic code. Try using a different web browser or clearing your browser cache.
You can put up to 10,000 characters in your signature. Open Gmail. See all settings. In the Signature section, add your signature text in the box.
To reduce the amount of characters, turn on short links in Profile Settings. If your signature has a long legal disclaimer, use the Read More link and link to an online version of your legal disclaimer to save on characters.
Change an email signature Select File Options Mail Signatures. Select the signature you want to edit, and then make your changes in the Edit signature box. When youre done, select Save OK.
Because your signature identifies you, it should be consistent. It doesnt have to be your full name unless youre specifically trying to match a previous authorized signature. You can choose to use just your initials instead, as one example.
Click on SETTINGS. Scroll down the page (youll be on the General tab) to the Signature section. CHECK THE BOX that says Insert this signature before quoted text in replies and remove the line that precedes it. Scroll down a little further and click Save Changes.
