Meet the Align tool Already introduced in the previous section, the align does simply what it says: select several shapes, and use the align tool to left, right, center or middle align them.
If you can select a shape, but can't apply any changes to it, the shape might still be protected. If grey handle bars appear on the shape you select, the shape is locked against all changes. In this case you will have to unlock all shapes from selection.
In Visio, you can replace any existing shape with an entirely different shape and yet retain all of the original shape's key characteristics—position, connections, formatting, shape text, and shape data. In your diagram, select the shape or shapes you want to replace.
Resize a shape Select the shape that you want to resize. Click and drag one of the selection handles that appear on the sides and corners. To maintain the shape's proportions, drag a corner handle, or hold the Shift key while you drag the handle.
Change a connector's style Select the connector or connectors you want to change. Select the Shape tab of the ribbon, and then select Connectors. From the menu, select Right Angle, Straight, or Curved lines:
Select a shape. On the Format menu, click Protection. Select the shape attributes that you want to lock, or clear the check boxes for the attributes you want to unlock, and then click OK.
Just select the big circle, then Shift + Click on the small circle. On the Home tab, in the Arrange group, there is an Align drop-down. Use this to Align Middle in the vertical, and Align Right in the horizontal. The small circle should now be up against the right edge of the larger circle.
To change the information for individual shapes, right-click the shape, point to Data, and then click Shape Data. The Shape Data dialog box opens, where you can make changes.
This option adjusts the alignment of the shapes to make the connector lines as straight as possible. Select the shapes you want to align. On the Home tab, in the Arrange group, click Align and then click Auto Align.
