Hi, this is Gary with MacMost.com. Today lets look at using Shapes in Pages. At their most basic Shapes are pretty simple. Im going to create a simple shape here in a blank Pages document and I can choose from any number of preset shapes. Im going to do a circle and it creates this default circle with a fill and a shadow and everything like that. I can make adjustments on the right under Style. I can remove the fill. I can add a border. I can change the drop shadow. There are a lot of different settings I can do. You probably know about those. But what you may not know is that you can put things inside of shapes. Like, for instance, I going to paste some text in here. You can see that not only does the text go inside the shape but it also wraps to the shape itself. That will work even if I scale it. So Im going to select it and then make it larger. You can see that the text will fit inside the shape no matter what size I use. Text also wraps around shapes. So Im going to select i

Lock and unlock objects In the Arrange pane of the Format inspector, click Lock (near the bottom of the pane). If the Lock button is dimmed, make sure each object is anchored to the page and not to text. To change anchoring for an object, select it then click “Stay on Page” at the top of the Arrange pane.
Click an object to select it or select multiple objects. Do either of the following: Lock: Choose Arrange > Lock (from the Arrange menu at the top of your screen). Unlock: Choose Arrange > Unlock.
In the Preview app on your Mac, open the file you want to change. Choose Tools > Adjust Size, then select “Resample image.” Enter a smaller value in the Resolution field. The new size is shown at the bottom.

Lock or unlock objects Tap an object to select it or select multiple objects. Tap. , tap Arrange, then tap Lock. If you don't see Lock, the object is set to Move with Text. Turn off Move with Text and try again.
Tap a shape to select it. Do any of the following: Reshape the corners of a rounded rectangle: Drag the green dot toward a corner to sharpen it, or away from a corner to make it rounder. Change the number of points on a star: Drag the outer green dot clockwise to add points, or counterclockwise to remove them.
With the text box selected, choose Text Box>Position>More Layout Options and check the Lock anchor option. This will keep the text box anchored to the paragraph at the top of the page. If the paragraph at the top of the page moves to another page, the text box will move with it.
