okay so this presentation is called fix point made easy my name is Jeff Miller Ive been an application engineer at the math works for about 15 years now and the idea of this presentation was to pull together a lot of the knowledge thats been learned from doing for myself project taking algorithmic MATLAB code floating point in particular to fix point implementation that will that will do well on FPGAs and the idea was to kind of bring together the different domains that come into play so understanding of the theory of fixed point mathematics hardware architecture and FPGA implementation concepts and then how to express those together in math works tools and if you can kind of pull all that knowledge together you can do really really well taking a floating point design all the way to implementation fixed point on an FPGA and the technical agenda for today for this talk is well go into the fixed point theory well review the number system what it means to be full precision well take
