If you see a list of numbers that look like this and when we highlight them youll notice its not a number, you may notice these little green dots which are on the left here. If we highlight all these cells and we hover over the little exclamation mark it tells us that that the number in the cell is formatted as text or preceded by an apostrophe. So thats useful to know but doesnt help that much but if you click on the drop-down youll notice it tells us the message again but heres a button that says convert to number and when we click it, it automatically goes to all the cells highlighted and converts them into a number that Excel now recognizes.
