To turn formatting marks on or off, do the following: In the message window, on the Format Text tab, in the Paragraph group, click the button that looks like a paragraph mark. (When you point your mouse at the button, the tooltip says Show/Hide ).
Select the objects you want to align. Press Shift to select multiple objects.Select Picture format Align and select how you want to align them: Align Left, Align Center, or Align Right. Align Top, Align Middle, or Align Bottom. Distribute Horizontally or Distribute Vertically.
Turn the display of formatting marks on or off Go to File Help Options Display. Under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, select the check box for each formatting mark that you always want to display regardless if the Show/Hide. button is turned on or off.

Note: Unlike Word document pages, PowerPoint slides dont have margins that you can adjust to change the slide layout. Your slide stretches from edge to edge.
