If scribbling and a dip in rubbing alcohol doesnt completely resolve the issue, you can try heating the pen tip with the lighter method. This method entails holding a lighter flame next to the tip of a ballpoint. Do this until the ink is able to flow and the pen can write.
Other methods for restarting a pen may include: Lighter method. Blow into an open ink cartridge. Draw dots on a piece of paper. Tap the pen on a surface with a piece of paper underneath. Write on a rubber or rubber surface like the bottom of your shoe. Similarly, instead or rubbing the ballpoint nib on a rubber.
Just add water to the jar and the ink will become liquid again. If you are in a hurry, crush the ink into small pieces, add water and stir. Voila you have ink. If you have a few hours, add water and stir occasionally.
The first method to resolve a clogged ballpoint pen is to apply more pressure and draw scribbles and vertical lines on a piece of paper. If this method does not work, then dip the very tip of the pen in rubbing alcohol. [just the tip] This will dissolve any dried up or ink that has hardened on the tip.
Do not put ink back into a bottle after it has been in your pen; pushing the old ink back into the bottle can contaminate your ink, as it is forced out through the feed through the nib the ink carries any particles trapped in the feed capillaries or nib tines back into the good bottle of ink.
To fix a pen that wont write, Solvents will help dissolve the ink so that everything flows smoothly. Nail polisher remover (with acetone) and rubbing alcohol both work wonders. Simply put a little onto some cotton wool and wrap around the tip for a few minutes. Write again!
If youve had a bottle of ink for awhile, some of the moisture in the ink may have evaporated, making it thicker and harder to manage. In this case, adding water will help return the ink to a more useful state.
