For further modification, such as changes in date, time or party, you can either cancel and rebook the reservation, or visit Guest Services once onboard. For beverage and internet packages, no modifications can be made in the app, but you can cancel and book a different package.
You can get a refund, or a partial refund, if you ask far enough in advance. But if youre within a month or two of sailing, you wont get a cruise fare refund, even if theres an itinerary change due to war. (Youll probably get your taxes, fees and shore excursions reimbursed.)
Passengers are often shocked when they learn they have no right to a refund or even a cruise credit when their cruise line makes a docHub itinerary change. But its all in the ticket contract, the cruise lines terms and the Passenger Bill of Rights or more to the point, its not in there at all.
Yes, In fact, cruises put in all of their documentation that the itinerary is subject to change - mostly due to weather patterns. Occasionally, a port is closed because the ship arrived too late and the customs people have gone home - so nobody was permitted to get off the ship.
Many ships do reposition across the Atlantic as they move between Europe and the Caribbean, or the East Coast, or South America. But a repositioning cruise might follow a completely different route. For example, it could travel from Hawaii to Sydney across the Pacific, or through the Panama Canal.
What can I do if my cruise itinerary changes? That depends. If you learn of the changes before the final payment due date, you can generally cancel and get a refund or reschedule. But once that day has passed, passengers are limited in their options because theyre under penalty, Pickett said.
There are many reasons why a cruise itinerary might change. They include inclement weather that forces a ship to avoid dangerous conditions, medical emergencies that require your vessel to divert to the nearest port of call, port closures, ship mechanical issues, scheduling conflicts and a host of other causes.
It is important to remember that the fine print in most cruise contracts allows the cruise line to prohibit photos of almost anything onboard, and even to legally compel you to remove social media posts if they choose.
