The short answer: use the float package and then the [H] option for your figure. The longer answer: The default behaviour of figures is to float, so that LaTeX can find the best way to arrange them in your document and make it look better.
The short answer: use the float package and then the [H] option for your figure. The longer answer: The default behaviour of figures is to float, so that LaTeX can find the best way to arrange them in your document and make it look better.
You can control the position of an image using options for the figure environment, e.g. the [h!] in the example below tells LaTeX to put the figure exactly where it appears in the text, instead of letting it float to a particular place in the document.
The package adjustbox enables an additional option in the \includegraphics command, in the example the picture is aligned to right . The available values are: left, right, center, outer and inner, the last two are intended for two-sided documents.
Click the location in your document where you want to insert a picture. On the Insert tab, click Pictures. Select the option you want to use for inserting pictures.
just use [H] or [! h] after \begin{table} .
In Table Tools click the [Layout] tab locate the Cell Size group and choose from of the following options: To fit the columns to the text (or page margins if cells are empty), click [AutoFit] select AutoFit Contents. To fit the table to the text, click [AutoFit] select AutoFit Window.
If you really dont want LaTeX to move your float at all, then use the float package with the command \restylefloat{figure} in the preamble. This allows you to specify [H] as the position parameter which means Here and only Here.
LaTeX automatically floats Tables and Figures, depending on how much space is left on the page at the point that they are processed. If there is not enough room on the current page, the float is moved to the top of the next page.
For general text you can use \raggedright and \raggedleft to align the material to the left and right, respectively. To align images inside a figure easily you can use the adjustbox package which allows you to add alignment keys to \includegraphics .
