To enable this option follow the steps below: Click on the Office button. Click on Word Options. Select the Advanced tab on the left-hand side. Check the option update automatic links on open under the General section on the right-hand side. Click on Ok.
Double-click in the header or footer (wherever the page number is) and deselect Link to Previous in the Navigation group. In the new section, go to Insert Page Number Format Page Numbers. Select Start at and set the value to 1. Select OK to save changes.
The default margin in Microsoft Word is one inch all the way around your document. You can change this default setting to reduce or eliminate the amount of white space on your page by: Clicking Layout Margins Custom Margins. Changing all the page margins to zero.
IF the printer likes / restricts the top / bottom margin to . 5 inches, then the Word Narrow margin setting might be in conflict with the printers ability to print the document. You could perhaps change the documents margins to Normal or something similar. You can also adjust the settings individually.
The most common cause of this problem is that the bottom margin, footer margin, or page border is outside the printable area of the page. All printers have an irreducible unprintable area necessitated by the mechanical requirements of paper handling.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and double-click on your footer. It should now read Footer -Section 2-. Click on Link to Previous in the ribbon. This button should be deselected to ensure that the footers are different in each section.
To change the numbering alignment, go to Header Footer Page Number Page Number. Choose the alignment you want and select OK.
The usual reason borders dont print is something called your printers minimum margin setting. There are a couple of ways to figure that out so that you can adjust your margins ingly before you print. Go to Design Page Borders. Select Options.
