It sounds like your Apple ID is activated with iMessage and your Start new conversations from is set to your email address, instead of your phone number. To resolve this, simply navigate to Settings Messages Send Receive and configure the settings to start new conversations from your phone number.
Change the message format for one message With the message open, on the Message Options tab, in the Format group, click the format that you want to usePlain Text, HTML, or Rich Text.
Even without the email capabilities, the process is still straightforward. Enter an email address as your recipient. In your phones text message app, enter your recipients email address in the Recipient field, where you would typically enter a phone number. Compose your message. Send your email.
You can copy and paste the content of the email to the text message: Type and edit text on iPhone and then see the section Select and revise text.
If youre sending someone an iMessage and they see your email address instead of your phone number, this is because you have selected your email address as the senders address and not your phone number.
As it turns out, there are a few reasons why you may be getting plain text emails: Some mobile email clients still do not support HTML emails. Various mechanisms used by websites (e.g. contact forms) tend to use the plain text format.
Open Settings and tap Messages. Tap Send Receive. Under Start New Conversations From, tap your phone number instead of your email. You can only have one sender address at a time it can be one of the email addresses or a phone number.
Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll to Messages in the menu and tap Messages. Tap the Send Receive item in the Messages menu. Scroll to the Start New Conversations From list, and select the default address you would like your messages to come from (likely your phone number.)
