The quickest and often easiest dent removal method is to use a sink or cup plunger, which will work on small to medium sized dents (depending on the plunger size). Wet the plunger and the dent, place the plunger over the damaged area and begin pushing and pulling.
Use a plunger or dent puller to remove the dent. Simply affix the rubber plunger over the dent in the sink. Then pull the pull wire, which should pop the dent out. If your dent is too big for this, you may want to consider hiring a professional to use more specific tools for this task.
Pop out the dent with a hair dryer and compressed air This will expand the dent and make it more pliable. When the car is hot to the touch, immediately spray the dented area with a can of compressed air. The cold air coming from the can will cause the area to contract. This should make the dent pop out.
Do they work? Dent pullers only work on shallow dents that are positioned on a flat, flexible surface. They can improve the appearance of car dents but are unlikely to create a perfect finish. Unfortunately, DIY dent pullers will not work on deep, angular dents or damage along the edges of bodywork.
If a dent is small and there is no damage to the paint, some car owners may consider repairing it themselves. There are several do-it-yourself methods to fix dents using everyday household items. None of them are guaranteed to work, but they are all worth trying if saving money is a priority.
First, heat the dent with the hairdryer approximately six inches away for about 30 seconds. Then cover the dent with a piece of aluminum foil and rub dry ice over it. The rapid change from hot to cold should make the dent pop out within a minute or so.
Unless the dent or scrape is very minor (and therefore very cheap to fix), older and less-valuable vehicles probably won't gain much value from a repair. You're often better off just keeping your money and living with the scrape and the knowledge that your car is a little less perfect than it was yesterday.
Go hot and cold You can take advantage of the expansion and contraction that happens with temperature changes to disappear or lessen your dent. Here's what you should try: Apply heat to the dented area, you can use a heater, heat gun, or hairdryer. Leave it in the area you want to move for several minutes.
Dents larger than 2” or multiple dents per panel will be considered damage. Dents smaller than 2” will be considered normal wear and tear if there are no more than two per panel.
