So what do you do when Ancestry has a record wrong? When one of the records thats in the tree has been listed incorrectly, probably through an indexing error. What do you do? Im Amy and in my last video about Find A Grave and the cautions that you should take as you accept the records in Find A Grave. One of the things that came up is the fact that sometimes the record is wrong. And I had one of the viewers say, Hey, I really wish you would cover on Ancestry what to do when you come across a record and the information in it that has been indexed or whatever is wrong? So I wanted to do a quick video on how to first of all change a record or add the information that you know is correct into a record on Ancestry. Why it matters. Why you even care whether they got it right. And a couple of scenarios where thats the case. Its really not hard. To delete all the comments in the document, go to the Review tab, click the down-arrow on Delete, and choose Delete All Comments in Document.
To view all comments, including all resolved comments, open the Comments pane by clicking Comments in the ribbon. You can interact with comments in the Comments pane the same as you would in the contextual view. If you reopen a resolved comment, it will be visible again in the contextual view.
On your computer, open a document, spreadsheet, or presentation. Click the comment you want to close. In the top corner of the comment, click Resolve.
Resolving a comment keeps the comment but shows it as Resolved so those collaborating on the piece can see the issue has been fixed. Deleting the comment removes it completely. If you want other teammates to know an issue was dealt with, use Resolve.
In the Comments pane, you can see a single list of all comments in your document, including resolved comments. To switch between the contextual view and the Comments pane, simply click the Comments button in the upper right corner of your Word window.
How to resolve a comment in Word Click in the comment text of the comment you are going to mark as resolved. Click the Resolve icon below the comment text (see Figure 5 above). OR. Right-click in the comment and select Resolve Comment.
Remove comments from a Word document To delete a single comment in the document, right-click the comment, and choose Delete Comment. To delete all the comments in the document, go to the Review tab, click the down-arrow on Delete, and choose Delete All Comments in Document.
Resolving a comment allows you to mark the comment as finished. This approach helps the original writer better track whats been changed and helps the reviewer see how recommended changes were implemented. When you resolve a comment in Word, a record of the comment is preserved.
